Help to Understand AAO

Featured Replies

Since there is no real information course, can someone start helping me understand what LVAR HVAR BVAR are?

What you see in AAO is taken directly from the simulator's SDK documentation. All those are assets of the sim itself, in this case they are variables

I'd suggest starting here:

Reverse Polish Notation (flightsimulator.com)

Variable types are described about two pages down.

And here is the description of the A - Variables and K Events

Simulation Variables (flightsimulator.com)

If you want to learn about LVars, HVars and BVars, you would have to book a training in MSFS aircraft and instrument development - that is where they are coming from. L, H and B variables are invented by the aircraft developers, fitting their development needs. These variables must be investigated for every single aircraft model, using a variety of methods (asking the developer, behavior file analysis, MSFS developer mode).

AAO is ultimately only a tool that gives you access to the sim/SDK internals.
