October 4, 20223 yr I am complety new to VR and I am bungling with switching from my 2d screen to my HP Reverb G2 and whether or not to transfer control with Windows key + Y. They never show any of this in all the Youtube videos, but when I Alt-Tab to VR, the screen also shows the “VR mode” and the mouse pointer shows on my screen. When pressing Win+Y control is transferred to the headset and the MSFS window on the screen minimizes. This ‘to me’ seems logical; The pc does not have to render the screen picture and you want to control everything in the headset. Unfortunately however, the mouse only seems to work in VR when the MSFS window is NOT minimized on screen!??! What is the correct way to go about this please?
October 9, 20223 yr I just leave the monitor window open as is. I suspect the performance gain by minimizing the display window is minimal.
October 9, 20223 yr I don't ever press Win Y. If am in MSFS VR and want to go to another desktop app, I am taking the headset off anyway so I either alt tab to what I want or hit the Win key and choose an open app off the task bar. Going back to MSFS I just click on the MSFS icon and MSFS takes back control of the mouse. I never minimise MSFS. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
October 10, 20223 yr Author Thanks for the replies. Seems that the problem was in running MSFS in windowed mode in stead of full screen.
