October 6, 20223 yr As you may or may not know, when you save a flight, it saves the weather conditions as well. So when you load a saved flight, it also loads the saved weather conditions and time and you cannot change them anymore. So, if you save a flight with real weather enabled for instance, you may not be able to fly when you load that flight if the weather conditions are too extreme at that time. This is not a problem if the flight you saved was located at an airport since you can start a new flight instead of loading a saved flight. But if you had saved a flight away from a known MSFS location, like in a field somewhere, there is a way to change the weather/time conditions by editing the saved .flt file and changing 2 lines, or 3 lines if you want to change the time as well So, in the .flt file, there is a section labeled [Weather] as shown below: [Weather] UseWeatherFile=False UseLiveWeather=True WeatherPresetFile= WeatherCanBeLive=False CloudmapPosOverride=False CloudmapInitialPosX=0 CloudmapInitialPosY=0 FixedClouds=False All the changes you need to do before loading the flight are: UseLiveWeather=False WeatherPresetFile= .\WeatherPresets\FewClouds.WPR where the .WPR Preset can be any of the following: ClearSky.WPR FewClouds.WPR ScatteredClouds.WPR HighLevelClouds.WPR Overcast.WPR Rain.WPR Snow.WPR Storm.WPR I haven't played with the other entries, so I have no idea what they do. Feel free to experiment. 🙂 You can also do this another way by saving any flight with your desired weather conditions and copy the entire [Weather] section to your desired flight. You can also change the time of day in the Hours= entry in the [DateTimeSeason] section. Hours=12 would be noon for instance. [DateTimeSeason] Season=Summer Year=2022 Day=87 Hours=15 Minutes=36 Seconds=12.166637420654296875 UseZuluTime=False Anyway, I wish Asobo would enable weather changes in saved flights, but in the meantime, I hope some of you may find this info useful.
