SPJC (Lima, Peru) ClDel confused

Recommended Posts

Planned a flight from Lima, Peru (SPJC) to Cuzco, Peru (SPZO). Get the ATIS as displayed on the left freq box. On the right, the box displays 118.5 SPJC ClrDel. Click on the box to swap frequencies. However, 118.5 SPJC ClrDel freq. that was on the right becomes 118.5 SPIM ClrDel on the left. When asking for clearance, the exchange is as follows:

Avianca One Four Three Ready to Copy IFR Clearance;
Aircraft calling JORGE CHAVEZ  International Clearance Delivery on One One Eight Point Five It appears you may be on the wrong frequency.
Check your frequency and try again.

NOTE: All calls are automatically generated; microphone is not used.

Please check and advise.

Thank you.

Looks like SPIM is the old ICAO Code for SPJC.  I'll see if I can put a filter on the data to avoid this in the next release.

For now, you could try checking the option on the FltPln tab of config under Misc Options to "Only Display Airports in AIRAC Data", but I believe you might still get the frequency issue.

This issue is fixed in the latest beta .2.6.3.2 Public Beta 8L.

The problem in this case was the lima airport SPJC used to be called SPIM.  The new version filters out airports with the same location but different names.

It also implements the option to only use airports in the AIRAC data, which avoids this issue and speeds program data loading significantly.
