Question about Learner

Recommended Posts

I think I understand what Learner does, but maybe not.  Currently I buy or download a new airport, run learner for a given amount of time, and in the sim i generally see lots of live traffic.  However, my question is what does PSXT do on airports that I have not learned with.  Let me give you an example.  Let's say I fly in and out of O'Hare as my main hub.  I've run ORD for 24 hours with learner and I get in the sim and it is populated.  Say there is an hourly flight from LGA to ORD but I have not run learner at LGA.  Will those flights not arrive because I haven't run Learner at LGA?  I hope that makes sense.  Basically, I run learner at all my payware airports but don't do anything to default so I am not sure if traffic originating from default airports are showing up.  Thanks!

Learner has nothing to do with where live traffic will appear at an airport. LIve traffic appears at any airport whether you have a populated airport file for it or not.

Learner "learns" an airport based on live traffic to see where live aircraft park (gate, airline, model, hour, day). It stores that info in the airport file. PSXT uses that info to park static aircraft when you visit that airport.

Btw, PSXT also "learns" an airport when you are at an airport. Learner is just a slimmed version of PSXT that can run without a siimulator connection.
