Controllers not showing up in device list of assignment page

Featured Replies

I recently purchased AAO and a Behringer XTouch Mini for use with MSFS. Because I fly in VR only, I also installed this Touch Mini Gauge, a framework that makes easy use in VR possible without being able to see the physical XTouch. I installed everything and most things work as they should and I'm delighted with the possibilities.

I have encountered a problem however that I can't find the solution to, despite consulting the relevant manuals. I installed a sample configuration into the framework and all buttons and knobs work fine. The framework also includes a shift button function and I'm not able to change its assigbnebt. In the template and the configuration file I created with it, the button assignment is set to a controller that its developer has and I don't (a yoke of some kind) so it shows as red in the list. When I double-click on it to edit it and open de device drop down list, the only devices that show up are "mouse", "keyboard" and "voice". Neither my joystick not my throttle is listed, so I can't re-allocate that shift key to my joystick.

In the "Hardware change" menu, both the joystick and the throttle are listed on the left side and when I press a button the entries light up green, so AAO does seem to recognise them and accept their inputs. There are three options to move devices from the left to the right here, but all of these involve selecting and altering the device on the right (MIDI IN in this case), which I don't want to do, because I'm afraid to mess up the framework installation.

So my question is: What am I doing wrong? How can I get my controllers to show up in the assignment device list?

I hope I've managed to explain the issue well enough and apologies if this is a stupid question because I've overlooked something.

And I also realise that of course you can't answer question about the framework, but I have to start somewhere and my idea is that there's a controller setting in AAO somewhere that I'm missing.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

They don't have to appear in this list. Just click the desired button on your joystick when the Change Button dialog is open.

In AAO, devices are not "preconfigured" and don't have to be "selected". The general idea is, that on any dialog you just press/move the external control, and when/if AAO can see it, it will be assigned.

Wow, that was simple! It just didn't occur to me to even try that. 🙂

It works now, of course. Thank you so much, for your quick help and for creating this excellent product that really enhances the simulation experience for me.

😄

This question is being asked a lot. We are all so used to "engieer grade" software solutions, that we overlook the simplest things... but AAO has enough of that too, don't worry.
