I read somewhere (I can't remember where) that smaller planes (turboprops) are held to a higher safety standard than bigger jets.Is this true? If so where can I get some info on this?Thanks.

I don't believe so all transport airplanes are built off of the same Federal Aviation Regulations. Right now I can't remember the FAR that is the guideline for aircraft construction.
