MSFS Reinstall and Cloud data

Featured Replies

I've got utterly fed up with the messed up controller calibration setup/mess since SU11. My X-56 axes no longer animate the horizontal bar in the setup screen(s) and sometimes some axes just refuse to work - when they were fine in previous sessions.

I'm thinking of doing a clean reinstall of MSFS, but am wondering if it's only going to re-import the (possibly) corrupt data that's stored on the Cloud. Is there an option (when re-installing or removing) of also removing all the User data that gets stored either on the Cloud or in your User/Appdata locations?

Any advice gratefully received!

Yes there is. There is a profile tool on flightsim.to (Flight Simulator 2020 Profile Reset Tools) that might do the trick.

I never used this tool since it didn't exist (or I didn;t know) when I had issues a long time ago.
I solved it then by disabling the network connection at the right time during startup of MSFS, just before it is syncing the profile. You'll get a syncing error and after that you can re-enable the network.
Then clear your controller assignments (make a backup if you like from the local cache) and do a very basic setup, and close MSFS.

The next time you start MSFS is notices the local profile is different from the cloud version and it asks you which to keep. Off course choose the local so the cloud version gets updated from the local files.

Many thanks! I missed that file on flightsim.to in all my usual trawls. I may just try your method first 😉
