December 23, 20223 yr Hello, Sorry for bothering with what seems like such a basic question, but I cannot get the Stream Deck to talk to AAO and the Sim. AAO version: 2.81 b05 Stream Deck Version: 6.02.17735 Windows 11. Sim Version: Latest version, all updates done. The Stream Deck functions normally in Windows with the current software. I have the Lorby-SI AxisAndOhs plugin installed on the Stream Deck I have a simple profile installed for the C172. I have added a connection status button to this profile as well. It does not show any connection with the sim. I have checked that AAO's is running as Administrator At times I have clicked on a button in the C172 profile and the Stream Deck software stops responding. The hardware panel does not respond. This has also happened trying to add buttons from the Lorby-SI AxisAndOhs plugin. Stream Deck requires a restart. I have seen images of the AAO's software running and the Assigned Buttons section has a list of buttons after connecting to the Sim. My version shows nothing on the screen. While running AAO's if I click on the '+' to add a new Axis or add a new button, nothing happens. I have uninstalled and re-installed both Stream Deck and AAO's. I have the C++ redist installed as well as the .Net 4.8 Runtime. I have connected the AAO's software to the Sim, it returns the correct value for the Aircraft selected. I then used the 'Watch Simulator Events' and 'Watch Simulator Variables' under scripting and I can see information coming back from the Sim if I manipulate the controls and buttons manually (mouse click and joystick manipulation). The light is green and shows it is connected. I have done the 'Read HVars and BVars from MSFS' command under scripting. If I click on 'Manage Hardware Changes' I can see the Stream Deck listed as a connected device. Is there any logging area I can look at for errors between AAO's and Stream Deck and the SIM? I'm srt of at a loss right now as I think I have tried everything to get it going. Thanks in advance for any help.
December 23, 20223 yr Commercial Member The StreamDeck plugin wants to access the AAO WebAPI. The "WebAPI Troubleshooting Guide" PDF applies here. 99.5% of the time when there is trouble like this the default WebAPI port is blocked by another app and must be changed (see troubleshooting guide!). In some cases it must be allowed through the local firewall (although the communictaion happens locally on the same PC). AAO must be connected to the simulator at all times, or it won't "do" anything at all. The App, or rather its WebAPI, is the bridge between the external apps, like the StreamDeck plugin, and the simulator. Edited December 23, 20223 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
December 23, 20223 yr Author Thank you for the quick reply. I had considered the Port situation and checking to see if anything was getting blocked, From my findings all seemed to be working okay. I will chnage the port number and see if it changes anything.

In most cases external tools will NOT show you this conflict. Many simmers fell into this trap. Most common culprit for this behavior is Logitech G-Hub. If you have that, you can be certain that port 9080 will not work for AAO and its addons. Changing the port as per the description in the Troubleshooting Guide must always be the first thing that you do. Make sure to really read the guide thoroughly as to how this is done - multiple steps are necessary! Edited December 24, 20223 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
December 27, 20223 yr Author Thanks for your help @Lorby_SI, after changing the port the sim connected as it should. Any thoughts on Stream Deck crashing while trying edit/add buttons using the Lorby plugin? Thanks again.

What does a "crash" of the StreamDeck software look like? And how can I create one? Can't say that I've ever seen that before. Edited December 28, 20223 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
