Where have my windows gone?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone:I have a question...I am running FSX deluxe, sp1, and have just noticed that my C172 has no glass anymore! I've replaced the model file...no joy...replaced "reflections.dds" file...no joy...I am not sure when/how this happened, but I am at a loss. This issue is affecting all my default a/c...the add-ons seem to display glass windows okay.I remember installing the "remove windshield reflections" patch a while back, but now I can't find it when I search AVSIM or FLTSIM.COM.I guess I might have corrupted those glass texture files.Anyone have any suggestions? Where on the CD's can I find those files to replace them? Is "reflections.dds" the correct files? If I do a "repair" of FSX, will I lose all my reduced textures and all my repaints? I am scared to do so. I would rather copy those files into the a/c folder from the FSX CD if I can.Anyone who thinks they can help is welcome to offer suggestions. It is too windy to fly without the glass...Thanks!Clayton Siem

Do a re-install of FSX with the REPAIR option. Then install SP1.Hopefully it will fix your problem.

If I do all that, won't I lost all those reduced texture files that I've spent HOURS downloading and installing? It occurs to me I could partition my second hard drive, and install FSX on it. Before I activate it, could I not copy the needed files over to my current FSX installation, then delete the new installation?Anyone know if this will work?

Ummm....hello?...............hellohellohello.....
