B737 fuel pump low pressure

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

my question is about B737 fuel pump low pressure,
Both main tank fuel pump LOW PRESSURE lights are illuminated:

Note: At high altitude, thrust deterioration or engine flameout may occur.

is taken from QRH. (No action)

One main tank fuel pump LOW PRESSURE light is illuminated: Main tank FUEL PUMP switch (affected pump). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . OFF
is taken from QRH

For example you turned off one main tank fuel  pump, two minutes later the other fuel  pump light illuminates (same tank)  will you keep the pump switch on?

or at the same time Both main tank fuel pump LOW PRESSURE lights are illuminated, will you keep the both pump switches on?

thank you in advance

There's really no reason to keep the pump switch on if a low pressure light is illuminated.  That light means the pump, even though it's selected on, is not doing its job.  So there's no real down side to turning it off.

On the other hand, you've got an electrical device in a fuel tank that's known to be malfunctioning.  Removing electrical power to it (by turning the switch off) seems like a good idea to me.

OFF topic Andrew.

Watched your latest stream as I often do.

Just wanted to clarify a few things.

Bryan (or other) is a ramp agent. He mainly coordinates ground services, not including GPU or push. GSX not supported yet in MSFS. He only handles default Asobo services for now

For GPU, you have to first establish contact with MCE ground mechanic with "cockpit to ground" or "ground from flight deck" before you can ask "ground connect gpu" or "mechanic connect ground power", "ground disconnect ground power" (requires confirmation).

You may want to create custom commands that flow to your head naturally as susbstitutes for those above, See this thread

As for Fo dialling frequencies by control centre name, the way it works, FO monitors the MSFS ATC info (even when the window isn't showing".

When he sees 1 - [Tune Portland tower on XXX.XXX] he'll take note of the frequency and dynamically update the speech engine so it can easily recognize "switching to Portland tower", "going to Portland tower" or "Tune Portland tower on comm one" not to mention "going to tower" or "tune tower on comm one".

If he asks for the frequency, it means he hasn't yet gathered the info. in that case, just speak the frequency "one two nine decimal eight", without commanding "comm one one two nine decimal eight" as you would do with the way you're familiar with.

There is a more up to date version which may Nathan's "Gear-uh".

You can now rely on FO to dial ANY frequency. Previously whereas he was comfortable with 25 khz spaced freqs, he would occasionally have a fit with the odd 8.33 khz spaced frequency.

Keep those vids coming. Crossing my fingers to see a V1 cut soon 🙂
