Graphics Card for XP12 = RTX 3060, 3060Ti, or 3070?

Featured Replies

My current machine is:

  • i9 9900K
  • 32 GB RAM
  • RTX 2060 with 6GB VRAM

Zibo and HotStart CL650 textures are blurry running XP12 with sliders mid-to-slightly less than full right. Tried backing off the sliders, no effect on texture quality.  Still blurry.  I'm considering an upgrade to either a:

  • RTX 3060 12GB VRAM
  • RTX 3060 Ti 8GB VRAM, or
  • RTX 3070 8GB VRAM

I also fly with MSFS 2020.  I would like the biggest improvement for the dollar, not to exceed $600, and even that is a stretch.  The upper 30x0 series and 40x0 series are out of reach right now.  Not willing to spend that much.

Which card gives the biggest bang for the buck but also address the blurry textures in XP12?  HotStart CL650 will be bigger part of my sim experience going forward after my retirement from real life flying the Challenger 350.

Thanks in advance everyone for your assistance!

Best regards,

Rich Boll

I just upgraded my Zotac RTX 2060 with 6GB to an EVGA 3060 Gaming with 12GB. I gained a few FPS but I can keep my sliders a notch higher in some cases. Honestly, I would go for as much card as you can afford, but this upgrade was not worth $300 in my opinion.
