Can't change Port Setting for Stream Deck Plugin

Featured Replies

My Stream Deck can't get a Connection to Axis and Ohs. I tried to follow the Instructions in the Plugin's Manual, but when I open the "Port Settings for AAO Addons" Menu Option I can't change the Port for the Stream Deck Plugin. I can see three Plugins listed in this Window: Stream Deck Plugin, Arduino Bridge and lorbysi-content-fippanel. Only the Entry for the Arduino Bridge is active, the other two are deactivated (Checkbox in Front of the Entry greyed out and unchecked). The Web-API is activated on Port 9080, but the Port listed for the Stream Deck Plugin in the "Port Settings for AAO Addons" Window for the Stream Deck is 8090. But I can't change that back to 9080. What am I missing? And how to I "restart the Modules" or uninstall the Arduino Plugin, as it may be the cause of my Trouble.

EDIT: Got it. I forgot to quit the STream Deck Software. But I still can't get any Connection between Stream Deck and AAO on any Port. Will try to fiddle around with my Firewall and Router Settings.

Thanks for Your kind Answer. But whatwever I tried it won't work. I followed all Your Suggestions from the Web-API Guide. Finally I installed the current Version of AAO, and the Web-API immediately worked again without doing anything. My prior Version was around six Month old.

maybe a stupid question, how did you turned off youre stream deck software, i bought yesterday Axis and Ohs version 3.0 but im struggeling same as you, i get the upper number addapted , but i cant check the red addon because its unchecking all the time.

i just cant figure out how to change the port of the stream deck addon.

i read the aao manual page 121 i also read anothe pdf from the aao page abouth this issue but this didnt helped me either

Kind regards

Right click on the StreamDeck icon in the system tray (usually located on the bottom right on your Windows screen, the little arrow opens the system tray) The option to shut down the StreamDeck is at the end of the context menu.

i unplugged the 2 decks i have, but jus shut down the editing software from youre streamdeck where you make youre keys is all hmm didnt know?

so this is what ive been doing, i was able to get the streamddeck addon in the list ad port 9080 and it went from red lined to black lined, but when i close and click it again its back red lined.

i also try uninstal and do a new instal, i had to do the same version because i dont know how to acces a older version ( my version is 3.50)

when i open the 747 plane and i open watch events simulator and i toggle main batterie it gives an event, same if i toggle the fuel pump buttons, but most buttons dont, like altitute dial, heading dial, packs dial, speed dial, enige bleed all not giving an event, and thise are just a couple examples, most buttons dont work.

i saw a video some one programming with an old version a cessna 172 g1000 and when he toggles the beacon light or the ignition key he gets an event registerd, if i try it i dont so thats why i know my software is not function the way it should.

is there a way i can get a older version that i can try to instal or maybe you can help me in a different way to fix this problem or maybe i do something wrong anything?

Kind Regards

Also want to add, yes i did hit apply, but it just dont save it or hold on to it.

Did you read my post? Only when you shut down the StreamDeck software properly, you can change the port. I suggest that you use the AAO default 43380 (click on the "default" button, then "Set primary port" then "apply".)

watch events....but most buttons dont,

That is normal. MSFS aircraft very rarely use the default SDK events, most developers apply custom logic. And this changes all the time too.

You will have to either use ready made profiles and scripts (from flightsim dot to) or learn how to find the correct LVars, BVars and HVars for the buttons and levers in MSFS developer mode.

yes i read that part, my streamdecks are plugged in, but the software not running, i got the ports on default.

so what you wrote in the previouse messages that the default buttons are not register in thje watch event window.

But how come with some players they are, for example the cessna vid i talked about in my previouse comment.

i wil look into that developer mode ,see if i can find some info on that.

thanks for the info, is it okey later on if i stil got issues or problems that i ask again questions?

Kind regards

Don't trust any MSFS video that is older than 3 months. These things are subject to constant change in MSFS. And they are different on every aircraft too.

In MSFS devel mode you open "Tools->Behaviours" Then you click back into the sim, then hover your mouse over the button you want to investigate. Press Ctrl - G.

This will bring up the behaviour code. Look around the MouseRect elements first, if you are lucky there are LEFT SINGLE or DRAG items that contain the events, scripts or vars that are triggered by the associated mouse event. Those BVars, HVars and LVars can then be wrapped into an RPN script in AAO. Which you could also get on flightsim.to by downloading a ready made StreamDeck profile...

I am a new user to Axis and Ohs.   I have 3.51 b08 paid version.  I have successfully set up the Assigned Axes using my Logitech/Saitek Yoke and Rudder Pedals, throttle quadrant, and an additional Saitek throttle quadrant.  I can assign the buttons on these as well without issue.

I am having issues with getting my 3 Saitek panels (switch panel, multi-panel and radio panel) and my Stream Decks to be recognized.  Honestly, I am not sure if this is two issues, or one?

Hardware>Saitek Panels Enabled is checked on

Under Hardware>Hardware Change I see:

I see the Stream Decks listed at the bottom under the Connected devices area.  I also see two “HID-compliant consumer control devices”, one “HID Device”, and one “Programmable Hotkeys” at the top of the list.  Are these the Saitek panels?

For some reason, it is showing 4 copies each of my Razer mouse and 4 copies of my Razer keyboard.

As I actually started configuring and adding assigned axis and buttons to devices, it shows in green in the right side that some configuration against those devices has taken place (the Saitek yoke, rudders and throttle quadrants).

I went to the Change Web API Address area, and it displayed  the Stream Deck Plugin and two other items - “lorbysi-content-fippanel” and “lorbysi-content-hooks”

It was originally using the WebAPIPorts 43380 and 43381.  I read through the troubleshooting guide, and tried other ports (4080/4081 and 6080/6081) with no results until I disabled the firewall.  I set it back to the default port and it seems to be OK now.

I can identify the event I want – for example, the beacon – in this case “BEACON_LIGHTS_ON”. The issue is that if I try and assign (in Add Button Assignment) the beacon switch from the Saitek switch panel, I select the key down event, and when I move the rocker switch, it does not recognize the device.  This is true of all of the switches, knobs, rockers on any of the Saitek panels…and any of the events I try.

I would appreciate any thoughts or advice you might have.

The Saitek panels or the StreamDeck aren't game controllers. They don't show up in any of these dialogs, nor are their inputs received as button or axis events. Please check out the AAO manual (click on the question mark), there is a chapter about the Saitek Panels and how to change what they do. Once enabled, they initally don't require any configuration - as long as you use them with aircraft that react to default SDK events. Also enable "Ignore sim electrical power" for the time being.

On Saitek Panel config dialogs you can also choose to switch a Saitek Panel into "MIDI Mode", which will in fact transform it into a simple button box - which will then be picked up on the Add/Change button dialogs as standard MIDI input events. This has other pitfalls though, because when you do this, you have to reassign every single button on the panel.

The StreamDeck works completely differently. It is not "recognized" anywhere in AAO and the buttons on it cannot be assigned in AAO either. To use it, you have to download the AAO StreamDeck Plugin from the axisandohs.com website - and create the appropriate Actions on the StreamDeck - or download and install one of the Profiles that other simmers already made - most of those can be found on flightsim dot to.

Make sure to blacklist all devices that aren't game controllers (Hardware->Device Blacklist). There are devices that pose as game controllers but are anything but. Those should all be blacklisted so they can't interfere. This includes all mice and keyboards, and everything else that isn't a yoke, joystick, TQ, pedals etc -  or MIDI device.
