Does the sim livery match the real life one?

Loving this app.

Does the livery that appears in the sim match the livery on the plane live at the time? 

Example being a Virgin Atlantic 787 livery appeared in the game but wasn't the livery on the real live plane. The tail of the plane in the sim had Virgin in red on a white background whereas the actual real plane has the red background with Virgin in white. I use AIG & I'm guessing it's their issue rather than PSXT. Thanks

That depends on whether or not you have that livery installed.

But in principle 100% as real as it gets would be possible. Especially with the AIG package and the 21000 registration codes for the rigfht livery mapping that PSXT has on board you can get very far.

I would add to this, that the AIG-packages is not always complete coverage of all liveries of a particular airline.

Sometimes a model or livery is parked when the AIG-package was released, and then they skip that livery.  In the meantime, the airline resume using that aircraft and livery, but real time update of the AIG-packages is obviously not possible. They are updated one or two times a year at most. Some of the packages are still from 2019, and there could be much changed since then.

Also, there are some packages that has bugs in the livery mapping of a aircraft liveries, or there are simply no repaint available for that particular livery.

Thank you Vidar for your explanation. 

Of course it all depemds on whether or not a livery is available in an AI package. But theoretically speaking, from PSXT's point of view, it is possible to match real live completely.
