February 23, 20233 yr Really hope someone can help me. I'm new on here so if this is posted in the wrong section, please let me know. I have just purchased AAO and now trying to setup with my sim. I have built a nice switch panel using Leo Bodnar hardware and AAO seems to detect every button push and encoder perfectly so far. What i cant work out is how I can use my new hardware buttons to interface with the GNS530 & GNS430 in the asobo cessna 172. In my drop down list of available actions in AAO there are no selections for the 530/430. Is it possible to control these with AAO ? Are there any options plugins or anything to get extra controls in the AAO list ? I would be so grateful of any advice, Thank you. Gary

The most common ones are in there. But there have been a few changes with the latest MSFS update and some variable names may have to be adjusted. 2 hours ago, Xs IrOnHidE sX said: Are there any options plugins or anything to get extra controls in the AAO list ? What you see in the AAO lists is initially just the SDK and a bit extra. You can add anything you want through a variety of methods. First start on flightsim.to, check is somebody already made RPN scripts for the aircraft and/or instrument that you want to control. It doesn't matter if what you find is a profile for the StreamDeck or the X-Touch etc. The packages normally provide a collection of scripts (as an XML file) that you can import into AAO and assign to your buttons. If you can't find anything there, you will have to figure out the names of the variables, events or whatever is being used yourself. This is often done in the MSFS developer mode, there is a method to find out what RPN code a specific button is triggering, and that can then be replicated in AAO. In short, AAO doesn't have to know a variable/an event in advance to use it - as long as you can find out the correct name, it can be utilized in the app (either with scripts or by adding it to the database manually). AAO has two helper features to look for LVars and HVars, but those can only get you so far. But make no mistake - finding out how a specific system is controlled and replicating that in AAO is a very involved process. Better to ask around if somebody already did it (and hopefully published his findings). Edited February 23, 20233 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
