Error while attempting to reinstall FSX

Recommended Posts

Guest Richard Hill

I load the DVD it seems to start to install and read the DVD then stops. If I attemt to run the setup from the DVD I get the following error;J:Setup.exeOnly part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was compleated. On a second attempt I get:J:setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.I have been a loyal Flight Simulator user from it's birth. however it seems like everytrhing else Microsoft developes these days, they are only interested in the $ issue and not producing reliable software. I have had some say clean drive and reinstall XP then FSX. Well if you have the means to have cablke modem or even DSL that is not available in my location, then downloading all the windows updates now at 93 that would not be too bad, but I don't. I an now leaning towards X-Plane with 8 DVD's of world sacenery for less than FSX. Suggestions anyone4?Intel Pentium D 940 3.2 Ghz DT 800FSB Sockey 775Abit IL9 Pro 945 Socket 775 MBONvidia GeForce 6500 265 PCI-E Graphcs2 GB PC5400 DDR2 667 Mhz RAM

If you have the room, copy both DVDs to an FSX_Install folder, then run the installer from that folder. I think you'll find it works much better (and faster!) that way. ;)From what you've written it seems more likely that you have a DVD hardware and/or software driver issue. It's a bit unfair to cast blame on Microsoft for your equipment or OS issues... :-(
