I'm doing some testing to see if a tablet or 2nd laptop displaying a LNM web page can help me locate bush flying landing strips better.   I don't care for alt-tab back and forth from MSFS to LNM on my gaming PC.  Just wondered if anyone runs their LNM web server in a public way that could be accessed for testing.  I'm thinking what I want is for LNM web to display the primary aircraft zoomed in so I can see the plane and intended landing area all the time. Aircraft stays centered and zoomed in to about a kilometer of the next landing field so I can see runway alignment.

Thanks, that's what I wound up doing.  Works great.  I see you need to temporarily disable auto refresh in order to pinch zoom on a tablet ( then re-enable auto refresh).   I know the best solution to the problem of not seeing remote/rural airstrips is head-tracking but I'd like to avoid that complexity.  Seeing a properly zoomed image of LNM on the webserver should help me spot the air field without taking up screen real estate in the simulator.  Neither the simulator VFR map nor Sky4Sim do this very well.
Some of these bush pilot "air fields" are not much more than a mowed field in amidst growing crop fields.  Following others who seem to locate these quickly is an option, but not my favorite.  Tomorrow I'm going to try an expensive bush plane, the F-35B which can land at 20 knots or even hover   🙂   Good thing I'm not paying for the fuel.

Good. There is no need to expose the web server to the internet. You can access all in your local network.

Opening the server to the internet is tricky and I'd recommend to do this only if you know what you're doing to avoid security issues (hackers in your home network).

I'm familiar with my router but yes, no need.  I'm gradually dialing in the LNM options so the tablet getting data from the web server displays just how I want it.  Flight plan leg transparency and colors, text sizes, etc.  For now I like the tablet to display just my aircraft's altitude above the ground and airspeed.   I'm changing "already traveled" flight plan legs to a lavender color because some of the group flights have "switchbacks" where you may struggle to tell whether you're heading back to the departure point by accident.
