PMDG BBJ Aux Tanks and fuel available in FMC Progress page

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I really can't figure out - the fuel quantity figure on the Progress page in the PMDG BBJ FMC includes the fuel in the AUX tanks or is that not calculated/included in this figure?

If it is not, how do I know what distance does the AUX Fuel give me?

Any helps would be appreciated..

Cheers!

As far as I've understood it, any fuel indications you get on either progress or cruise pages are based on the total of what you have on board. So yes, it includes the aux tanks. Estimates for destination and waypoints, plus current fuel on board. The aux tanks are part of the center tank system on your indication on the EICAS (bottom right of the center display). So if you go full 100% fuel in the FMC option with no aux tanks, and then after that full fuel with the max number of aux tanks, you should be able to see the difference in the center tank indication on the EICAS, plus your total fuel quantity indication on the progress page as well.

Yeah that’s the way I understood it also, but just wasn’t sure

Good shout about the EICAS though, I will pay closer attention to that. I was watching TheFlyingFabio the other day and he confirmed that the aux tanks are part of the total fuel available also so I have triple confirmation 😊

Thank you for all your help,
