Control Assign Window Stuck

I'm trying to assign controller switches to the MSFS own controls options, but when I want to validate an assignment I entered, MSFS gets stuck and I cant do anything anymore. Only thing I can do is restart the sim, but this way I'm not going to get my controllers assigned, of course.

What do I do to get unstuck, or even better, not get stuck in the first place?
