MSFS will not quit to desktop

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've been out of the loop for a while but tried to install the latest update (France, benelux I think it's called) the other day:

Downloaded OK but the installation got stuck on decompression. Left it running for an hour or so, still stuck at the decompression stage.
When I tried to quit to desktop the sim wouldn't shut down, it was stuck. The only way to shut down now is with task manager.

Has anyone had this and have you found a solution?

Thanks folks

I had the same problem and posted the solution that worked for me here:

Thanks eslader, much appreciated.

Just deleted the offending files as you suggested and it worked🙂

Now attempting to install the update again. Fingers crossed it works this time.

Up to now I've never had any installation issues with the sim, I've been lucky I guess.
