July 17, 20232 yr Around Auckland – small airfields We visit several smaller and very small grass strips as well as some regular airfields around Auckland on the North Island of New Zealand. We depart from Ardmore (NZAR) and head northeast to land at Motutapu Island (NZ2B). We want to land to the east because of the slope. We continue east and land at Reeve (NZKE) and then at Chamberlains Bay (NZ2A). Here we want to come in from the sea, again because of the slope. Crossing the Firth of Thames we reach Coromandel (NZCX). We continue and land at Pauanui (NZUN), Thames (NZTH), Black Miranda (NZ3I), and Kelly Field (NZ3C) before we turn south. We land at Ohinewai (NZ3O), turn west again, and reach Naike (NZ3M). Recommended is a landing to the south. We land at Limestone Downs (NZLD), Patumahoe (NZ3J), and Kariotahi (NZ3L), and reach the Irwin Road Emergency Strip (NZ2G). It seems that some special emergency requires an outhouse, as there is one directly at the end of Runway 7. Additionally, the airfield has slopes in various directions and is rather short. We end this flight at Auckland International (NZAA). The flight has 197 miles and 15 landings. We want a slow, STOL-capable aircraft, the shortest runway has 759 feet. The various Piper Cub variations, the Pipistrel, the Husky (maybe a bit slow), or the PC-6 are suitable for this flight. I will probably be in the CubCrafters NXCub. As always, please fly what you like. Flightplans are here. There are three add-ons required for this flight: https://flightsim.to/file/6219/new-zealand-north-island-unregistered-airstrips-part-1 https://flightsim.to/file/6670/new-zealand-north-island-unregistered-airstrips-part-2 https://flightsim.to/file/6993/new-zealand-north-island-airfield-pack-pt-3 Particulars: Date and time: Wed July 12, 18:00 UTC https://discord.gg/cgNm9Fh3 MFS Multiplayer: US Eastcoast Server If you want to help others enjoy the multiplayer experience, don't forget to enter your aircraft details on the multiplayer spreadsheet (linked here).
