Hello guys.  After an update (i think it was 3-4 versions before)  I have duplicate aircrafts from Vatsim and my simulator, although the "remove duplicates" option is checked

To be more specific, this happens to some but not all the aircraft, although they have the same callsign

Moreover, the aircraft on ground come in mixed red and orange colours and i cannot distinguish between static and Vatsim ones

Before that specific update, everything worked perfectly

Any thoughts?

 

The duplicate detection got a few updates in the past. Currently it uses position, altitude, speed, heading and a few more parameters with a buffer to detect duplicates. This happens right after downloading the VATSIM file.

You can tune the detection in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel\little_navmap.ini .

Look for section "[Options]". This contains four key/value pairs:

MaxShadowAltDiffFt=500          # Maximum altitude difference
MaxShadowDistNm=2               # Maximum distance between duplicate aircraft
MaxShadowGsDiffKts=50           # Maximum ground speed difference
MaxShadowHdgDiffDeg=90          # Maximum heading difference

These define the buffer. MaxShadowAltDiffFt allows to the downloaded aircraft to differ around 500 ft in altitude, for example.

Increasing the values might remove the duplicates but can result in removing the wrong ones.

You can also disable either the simulator or online aircraft in the view menu.

I did some tweaking and i think i have solved the first issue

I have increased the distance to 10 miles and the alt difference to 5000 

The only problem now is that there is no correct distuingishment between the orange and the red.  They are completely mixed. In the previous versions orange where online and red where static (or the opposite, i dont remember exactly)

There must be a big mismatch between aircraft positions after download from VATSIM. No idea what can cause this. Slow network download from VATSIM? Simulator connection?

The mixed aircraft is expected with too large values.

A bit at a loss with this one. 🤷‍♂️
