August 3, 20232 yr Hi all! Looking for some assistance on an issue I have encountered in P3dv5 and which doesnt seem to be mentioned anywhere else. Please note that this error does not seem to be related to an add-on, and I have this issue even with just basic P3dv5. I have some extreme stuttering/freezing just outside of Stockholm when I travel east, it covers the area just right of Stockholm, beneath the Åland Islands, west of Turku and North of Visby (it stops when I exit this area). This problem is exactly the similar one I get due to the Clacton VOR, which will hopefully be fixed once I buy the UK regions/true earth package from ORBX according to this thread https://forum.orbxdirect.com/topic/143628-orbx-vector-stutters-in-egsq/ (never thought buying an addon would solve anything, but isn't that the beauty of flight sim). However, as I doubt the stuttering in this area of the Baltic sea is connected to the Clacton VOR I just wanted to check if anyone of you know what can be done to fix this (e.g. is there a specific terrain, cfg file that should be tweaked/removed, etc.)? Please also note that I have already implemented the MK studios fix for Helsinki (which fixed all the stuttering around that area). Thanks in advance! 🙂 i9 14900K / Corsair Nautilus RS ARGB liquid CPU Cooler / MSI Z790 Tomahawk WiFi / 64GB Trident DDR5 RAM @ 7200 mhz / 24GB Gainward 3090 Geforce RTX / 2 TB SSD WD Black SN850X NVMe / 1 TB SSD Samsung 990 Pro series / 2 TB SSD Samsung 980 Pro Series / 500 gb and 250 gb SSD Samsung Evo 850 / RM1000W Corsair PSU - P3Dv5.4, X-Plane 12, X-Plane 11 and FSX
August 3, 20232 yr Try setting effects to low. Everything above causes those nasty lags @ CLN / egss / eggw / egll. Also experienced such freezes near ESSA indeed. Has to do with it. August 3, 20232 yr Author I will try that! Interesting though that it would only happen at specific locations as one would think the special effects would be applicable at different locations at different times! I will let you know how it goes! 🙂 i9 14900K / Corsair Nautilus RS ARGB liquid CPU Cooler / MSI Z790 Tomahawk WiFi / 64GB Trident DDR5 RAM @ 7200 mhz / 24GB Gainward 3090 Geforce RTX / 2 TB SSD WD Black SN850X NVMe / 1 TB SSD Samsung 990 Pro series / 2 TB SSD Samsung 980 Pro Series / 500 gb and 250 gb SSD Samsung Evo 850 / RM1000W Corsair PSU - P3Dv5.4, X-Plane 12, X-Plane 11 and FSX

Has to do with it. I now tried the settings thing and it worked fabulously! Thank you so much for helping with this! The only question I have left is what do I lose from moving the special effects slider from high to low? Couldn't really see much of a difference but would be interesting to know (in case I want to turn it on when not flying "problematic routes") 🙂 i9 14900K / Corsair Nautilus RS ARGB liquid CPU Cooler / MSI Z790 Tomahawk WiFi / 64GB Trident DDR5 RAM @ 7200 mhz / 24GB Gainward 3090 Geforce RTX / 2 TB SSD WD Black SN850X NVMe / 1 TB SSD Samsung 990 Pro series / 2 TB SSD Samsung 980 Pro Series / 500 gb and 250 gb SSD Samsung Evo 850 / RM1000W Corsair PSU - P3Dv5.4, X-Plane 12, X-Plane 11 and FSX
August 3, 20232 yr Special effects like chimney smoke from industrial buildings, water coastal waves can cause this too. Orbx has a lot with effects going on, causes a lot slowdown. Observed this when flying from over water to land. Suddenly a seconds long freeze when I flew into southern England, from the North Sea, the same happened when I flew to ESSA. from the moment I left baltic sea the freeze began. There is an ORBX topic about effects. Google it, freezing/ clackton. Effects slider to low is a suggestion at 1 of those topics. I cannot notice substantial differences with this setting. This should solve all your freezes geographically related to this issue. Glad I could help you😀 Edited August 3, 20232 yr by Piotr007 I9 12900K @ 5.1ghz P-cores/ 4.0 ghz E-cores fixed HT off / Corsair iCue H150i Capellix Cooler/ MSI Z690 CARBON WiFi / 32GB Corsair DDR5 RAM @ 5200 mhz XMP on / 12GB MSI 4090 RTX Ventus 3 / 7,5 total TB SSD (2+2+2+1+0,5 all NVMe)/ PSU 850W Corsair / 27" (1080P)

August 3, 20232 yr Yeah the special effects option can definitely cause issues, I've had similar problems with the special effects turned up.
