October 25, 200718 yr Hi All:Please tell others (read: prospective consumers who might help boost ACES' income base) that might be less experienced dealing with a company that has roughly 80,000 employees... that things can still go wrong, and they might not always benefit from believing everything Microsoft puts on their boxes! :-roll The worst that might happen with this latest FSX franchise situation is that ACES will be out some more lost sales income, and have some bad PR thanks to consumers who think that they should be able to believe what they read on boxes. :-( The FSX Acceleration System Requirements as printed on the box I bought yesterday at Best Buy on Rt.59 in Aurora, IL states:1 GB under "OS" (presumably hard drive space), and 4 GB plus space required for FSX under "Memory". :-wave The experienced FS enthusiast might (briefly) wonder if MS is acknowledging the need for 4 GB RAM, or that they are recommending the use of Solid State storage drives with FSX Acceleration rather than industry standard mechanical hard drives. :-lol Some prospective consumers may put Acceleration back on the shelf thinking that they don't have enough RAM in their computer to run it! :-zhelp Perhaps we could as an FS community of non-MS employees, help out ACES by spreading the encouraging news that FSX Acceleration will actually run (although not optimally) with 1 GB RAM (more is better), and that 4 GB of hard drive space is needed for Acceleration above the 14 GB base for FSX.Acceleration is a fun package well worth its suggested list price, although I wish ACES would release an easy to use automated converter or at least instructions on how to manually convert FS9 legacy (or otherwise non-FSX SDK compliant) add-ons for use with FSX, so we can promptly resume using at least some of the things we did in FSX-SP1 with FSX-SP2Hope this helps! :-) GaryGB
