Airport ICAO Correction

Featured Replies

Little Navmap list Point Baker, Alaska ICAO as "KKPB", correct ICAO is KPB. Looks like there are variations out there, X-Plane12 as KKPB, but AIRNAV list it as PFKP. Thought you would like to correct this.

I'd need more information (what simulator? add-on?)😉
But I usually cannot correct this since these are scenery errors.

In MSFS and P3D is no Point Baker airfield and X-Plane lists it as "Point Baker (KKPB)".

Point Baker has no ICAO code. Only IATA and a FAA location identifier: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_Baker_Seaplane_Base

So KKPB is the internal X-Plane code (https://gateway.x-plane.com/airports/KKPB/show).
The X-Plane airport has also the IATA and FAA codes missing.

As Alex mentioned above the "KPB" is FAA code of Point Baker and it's taken from simulator database.
ICAO codes are always 4 letters - where 1st letter means ICAO region (for USA, K - mainland, P - Alaska and Pacific area).
Point Baker's ICAO proper code is PFKP -> see charts, for example here:  https://skyvector.com/?ll=56.351859722,-133.622586389&chart=301&zoom=3
If you need this code under LNM, you can always manually correct it in X-Plane database (write PFKP in ICAO field of Point Baker seabase/airport), then reload simulator database/scenery library under LNM and at the end you'll see "PFKP" ICAO code under LNM 🙂

Piotr

ps. BTW, if we discuss about X-Plane, all changes in airports' codes should be reported at Scenery Gateway  to be corrected by X-Plane Team, here: https://gateway.x-plane.com/
LNM only displays what get from X-Plane database (or Navigraph depends on settings), nothing more 🙂

ps2. I've digged out it's already corrected in newest Point Baker's scenery (from 31st July 2023) at Scenery Gateway, but it's still not included in simulator release yet, so you should download Point Baker's scenery from Gateway as additional airport/addon to your X-Plane simulator and then reload scenery under LNM to get proper codes under LNM. I hope it helps you 🙂

FAA website list Point Baker as PFKP and it's localizer ID as KPB.

Thanks for the replies, most helpful and informative.

I have reported it to "GATEWAY BUG REPORT"
