October 10, 20232 yr I have started this thread because the original one was just a technical discussion to start with, but it has evolved (45+ pages!) to a complete and easy solution for those that want to try it, even with a toggle switch in sim so that you can see the difference. This thread is to highlight this system, as you may not know how quickly things have moved on, and the information can be a bit spread out in the old thread. I will paste the link to the original thread below for people who want to read it all. For those that do not want to try it, please don't come into this thread and moan - please just wait for Asobo to implement it in a few months (hopefully) and just leave it at that. This new system is relatively easy, risk free, and flexible. It does not involve modifying the flightsimulator.exe in any way, it is adjustable on the coefficients, and a toggle switch can be set to turn it on and off in the sim so you can see the difference on the fly. I also believe it should not cause any update problems or licencing issues, as it doesn't modify the .exe at all. Credit must go to @Biology first, who started all of this off, and explained why the colours aren't realistic at dawn / sunset (normally too orange / purple), and how the coefficients needed adjustment. This discussion was very enlightening, and as you know, Asobo have taken notice of Biology's expertise. What some of you may not know, is that @Drunq developed some files that drop in next to the flightsimulator.exe, without modifying it, and reads a text config file that you can change, and then injects these new colours / coefficients directly into the sim. It appears to work seamlessly and nobody has faced any issues with it. So for those who want to try it, I will place links below. While I believe this system is totally non-harmful to your install, as usual, it is at your own risk. To reverse the procedure, you simply move the three files back out of the folder with the flightsimulator.exe in it. I have had no issues whatsoever. This is a very innovative system devised by Drunq, so many thanks to him. Also, many forum users known on here have contributed to the discussion constructively, and moved it forwards a long way since the original discussion started.
