Random display of add-on aerial data

Featured Replies

I love VFR flying in Austria as there are many excellent freeware airports on Flightsim.to. Several of these add-ons include aerial data as the default Bing data is rather poor which enhance the immersion a lot. But it looks that the MSFS can't handle addons if several contain aerial data and are enabled in the community folder.

As an example, LOGK Kapfenberg airfield where the default Bing data is a disaster.

With the excellent add-on from Littlekrg-Troglodytus, this airfield looks great!

But as soon as other Austrian add-ons are active in the community folder which also contain aerial data, the display of aerial data becomes very random!

No aerial data at all.

Only the aerial data from the airfield.

Or aerial data surrounding the airfield, but not the airfield!

Is it only me seeing this or do others experience it as well? And is there a way to fix it? Looks to me to be a loading sequence issue, but as far as I know, there is no way to Control it in MSFS.

You could experiment with the Package Reorder Tool inside MSFS to make sure the scenery is ordered in the right order.
You can find it in General Options -> Experimental -> Package Reorder Tool.

Another, and perhaps simpler way is to change the foldernames since AFAIK scenery is commonly loaded in alphabetical order. You can add "zzz" in front of the foldername to make sure it is loaded last.

Flightsim rig:
CPU: AMD 5900x  | Mobo: MSI X570 MEG Unify | RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo | GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3090 | Storage: M.2 (2 & 4 TB) | PSU: Corsair RM850x | Case: Fractal Define 7 XL
Display: Acer Predator x34 3440x1440 | Speakers: Logitech Z906
Controllers: Fulcrum One Yoke | MFG Crosswind v2 pedals | Honeycomb Bravo Quadrant |Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant | Stream Deck XL & Plus | TrackIR 5 Tobii eye tracking

That's what I do.  All my scenery object libraries are prefixed with AA, All my addons for specific countries which I load and unload quite regularly are prefixed ZX, ZW, ZZ, etc and all my UK scenery that lives in the community folder is not prefixed so sits in between.

Thanks for your replies. I did try using a prefix of zzz to some of the scenery without any improvements but will test it again. I didn't know about the Package Reorder Tool, so I will give that a shot.
