Norwegian Seaplane Basis - revisited

Seaplanes in Norway - revisited

After the latest Sim-Update, Norway got improved even further. The great addon from frkristi was updated as well, so we fly this scenic route again!

We will visit 12 seaplane bases in Norway. We depart from Vigra (ENAL), since waiting for everybody to join is easier on a hard surface than floating about somewhere.

We make our first water landing at the Bunker Oil Station (EN226), recheck that your gear is up before attempting the landing. Following the fjords and valleys, we land at Tannstad (EN225), Hellesylt (EN221), Geiranger (EN222), Breiddalsvatnet Øst (EN045), Stry Sjøflyhavn (EN133), and Utvik (EN217) before landing on a hard surface again at Sandane Anda (ENSD). Now you may want to check, that the gear is down…

After relaxing a short while we continue and visit Dampen Serveringsstad (EN220), Kalvåg Sjøflyhavn (EN130), Florø Sjøflyhavn (EN129), Førde Sjøflyhavn (En128), and Balestrand Sjøflyhavn before reaching todays destination Sogndal Haukåsen (ENSG).

Aircraft:

We need an amphibian plane. The route has about 270 miles and 13 landings. There are some amphibian planes available: the C-172 on floats, the Club Crafter on floats, and the ASOBO PC-6 on floats are about in the same speed range. The Twin Otter on floats is a bit faster and the Grumman Goose is even faster. The Husky on floats, the  Zlin on floats, and the Junkers Ju 52 on floats are also available but a bit too slow for this flight.

I will be in the Amphibian Beaver. Please fly what you like.

Required scenery:

The floatplane bases are all in this great freeware from frkristi: Norwegian Seaplane Bases. Some have a little dock or some other construction. But with the add-on, all bases appear in the selection menu in the sim and on Little Nav Map.

Recommended freeware scenery:

Sandane (ENSD)

Vigra (ENAL)

Sogndal (ENSG) or this version ENSG

All three sceneries are also available as payware from ORBX.

Please set your simulator to August 10, 2023, 3 pm local. With real weather selected, we will get snow and ice everywhere. I suggest a weathertheme like #1 from Josh.
