Understanding the RealityXP 750/650 Touch before purchase

Struggling to find a clear use case in the marketing material and forum noise...

Is this a correct overview of the RealityXP GTN 650/750 Touch for XP?...

I'm running XP12 on Windows10 with a number of aircraft, most of which have LR GNS 430s and/or 530s. I pop those radios out, make them windows, and then move them to a touch screen where they are placed under an Air Manager overlay. The nav data is in /Custom Data and updated via Navigraph.

I'd like to emulate the GTN 650/750 in a similar way. It looks like the Touch software is downloaded via a RealityXP installer, the files get dropped in a plugins folder as plugins do, and the plugin options include replacing, for instance, the stock 530 with the Touch 750 (in a compatible aircraft, of course). Is it all that simple?

I see mixed comments about navdata updates, though the RealityXP website has a link to how to install Navigraph. It looks like the trainer product is still the physical radio simulator with a manually updated db, and the Touch product pulls the data from XP's Custom Data folder?

No, the RXP GTN units do not read the updated Navigraph data from XPlane--they use the outdated Garmin internal database that ships with the trainer version in use.  Currently the database shipping with the trainer is about 13 months out of date.

It's possible to update the Garmin database with current r/w data, for example if you were to own a r/w unit.  It's also possible to buy it, but it's very expensive.

Any thoughts about the RXP 650/750 Touch? I think they're solely a software product (and only list for around $35)

Garmin products are the best for aeronautics
But how it is sold for X-Plane12 is AWFUL
I am going to write at Garmin Inc. 
We are in 2024 not in 19th century.... and i am 69 years old... I would like spend my time with aircrafts and aeronautics.... no losting time for informatic !!

I don't want spend more time to understand how installing a GTN750 in the compatible aircrafts on X-Plane12
I spend 3 hours to understand a prehistoric method to download, in fact I have paid twice
At one moment, installation procedure stop because my folder F:\X-Plane12\X-Plane 12 "is not a valid X-Plane 9 folder !!!
=> Make sure to choose the folder where X-Plane.exe version 9 is located" => if you want the screenshot : i have it

After a moment : Great, there is an application "Garmin Aviation Trainers" ... yes.... but what ?

Is it too much complicated for the developpers to understand we would like install easier GTN750 in a plane !! And it would easy to do it !!!
All then manual is for understand Garmin system... Good... 
But where I can found the method to install that in the aircrafts ????
(It's exist an easy method for G500 for instance about Mitsubishi M2 !! => no problem with this plugin : in 5 minutes it's working very well)

vFlyteAir : Piper PA28R Arrow III G5 & E1000 

My question is very simple : how install GTN 750 in these aircrafts and working good  ?????????

Your complaint is with RealityXP, not Garmin.  Garmin graciously allows third-party applications to use their real-world trainer in flight sim applications, but Garmin neither promotes those third-party programs nor do they guarantee their suitability for that purpose.  That's between you and the third-party application developer--in this case, RealityXP.

Jean-Luc Dupiot d.b.a. RealityXP has, once again, gone off the radar and stopped responding to support requests for many months now.  So with that knowledge in mind, you have the option of either figuring your installation issues out for yourself, perhaps with a little user-to-user help here, or taking advantage of Flight1's 30-day money back guarantee, as the RXP Garmins are sold using the Flight1 wrapper.

Mixed emotions, to be honest.  The product itself works well and puts an almost fully-functional GTN unit into a panel designed for it...but there aren't really a lot of XP acft that are designed for it. 

Because the author has gone and done a runner on us--and this isn't the first time, either--I can't in good conscience recommend it now.  I have no idea if it will be supported in the future, and the database it's using now is already 14 months old.  Caveat Emptor--let the buyer beware.
