November 13, 200718 yr I`m using Airbus series 1 And I understand that I cannot use the FMC unless the engines are shut down how do I do this and more important how can I make sure that engines are shut down each time I load an aircraft into FX then what is the sequence for startup for heavies apart from ctrl-e ?.thanks
November 14, 200718 yr RTFM = Read the full manual. You have a 'hardcore' simulation. You will be much wiser and thankful afterwards. But, to answer your questions, you can program the MCDU with the engines running, or your 'APU' running or with external power. Most airlines, if not all, prefer to program the MCDU (Airbusses version of the FMC) with just the Auxiliary Power Unit running only for economy reasons.Sequence for start up is APU bleed open, PAX off, Start APU, program 'MCDU' (Multi Functional Display Unit) Start number one engine then, start number two usually done while in the push-back, from the ramp. November 14, 200718 yr To ensure you start in the engines off mode, you load the Cessna and stop the engine by switching off the the start key and the battery (Do NOT under any circumstance switch off the 'Avionics' master switch). Then 'save' your flight and tick 'use as default' box. Then all your flights will start as 'cold and dark'. Dave Taylor
November 14, 200718 yr Author happ:the route information can be programmed with engines running ... you cannot program the INIT page 2. this is like real world.also, it is not good practice to align your IRS system with the engines running ... the vibrations will degrade the quality of the gyros aligning.you need to set the config manager for 'cold and dark' (restart of FSX required). or do as suggested by G7USL (aka, dave).full information can be read at this forum using the search function to answer your question(s) -http://www.iemit.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=26questions about flying the Abus can be posted here -http://www.iemit.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=27--edit: typo-- D.
