February 17, 20242 yr I've been using AAO's some a few years now. Currently on version 4.10 b51. I noticed recently that it is no longer auto-starting with MSFS. I have "Start automatically" and "Connect Automatically" checked and also "Force connection to running Sim" checked. I appreciate it's not a major problem, but just curious why it would no longer be starting as it used to ? Thanks Andrew
February 17, 20242 yr Commercial Member The usual reasons are 1. Missing admin privileges when starting the simulator: when you have set up AAOs exe file to always start with the "Run as Administrator" option in Windows, the sim must be started with "Run as administrator" too. Otherwise the sim is not allowed to start AAO 2. Corrupted exe.xml file: Sometimes the simulators exe.xml file can become corruputes (by another installer program or by manual editing). Then AAO will not start either. I do it the other way around. I've activated "Start simulator before connecting" in AAO. So I start the app and AAO starts the simulator for me. LORBY-SI

It is the ultimate resort for certain situations where MSFS does not inform AAO that your aircraft has been loaded (this might improve with SU15, we'll see) Edited February 17, 20242 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
February 19, 20242 yr Author Thanks for the info. It was the Admin rights. One of my VA's recently changed their ACARS system which requires the sim to not run in Admin mode. I use Addon Linker, and remembered that I can set it to start other programs as well as MSFS, so have now set that to start AAO's, and it works a treat. Also took your advice to untick "Force connection to running sim". Thanks again for the help. Andrew
