Precise Prediction Freeze and CTD PMDG 737

Recommended Posts

I can now precisely predict a freeze and ultimate ctd. What do I do? Load a B737 PMDG in a random airport. Go to the FMC and make just 1 adjustment in the simulation chapter. This triggers the file `737_Options.ini` to be changed in over 130 lines. A fresh ini file consists of only these lines `[IRS.0]
LastPosValid=0
[IRS.1]
LastPosValid=0´
The file '737_Options.ini' can be found here: "C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\pmdg-aircraft-737\work"

Leave the flight and load another plane (to unload the previous one) into a new flight. In the meanwhile I add these lines to the mentioned ini  file.

[SDK]
EnableDataBroadcast=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.0=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.1=1

This enables me to get data in my external FMC (tablet) from the PMDG737 (theoretically). I use Axis and Ohs for this.

Load the previous PMDG 737 again in a flight. Helas it never comes to that. Always freezes and crashes. I can't even see the yellow Fly button, the sim just freezes and crashes.
I always update Windows, Nvidia drivers, and subsequently refresh all cache files from the pc. Still use addons like GSX, FS Realistic because I can not do without these addons.

My setup:

Asus ROG STRIX X670E mobo
Asus ROG STRIX RTX4090 24gb gpu
Kingston Fury DDR5 32gb
NZXT AIO
AMD 7850x3d cpu
Windows 11 Home

Fault bucket 1874220721750356545, type 4

You might want to post this question in the official PMDG forum. The developers don't come here.

I am trying to do so. But getting permission to get on their forum is a bit of a hassle. Wrote the web admin about this. Thanks for thinking with me.

The PMDG birds have never been particularly kind to users when trying to load them after loading other aircraft in the same simulator session...this problem might have nothing to do with your settings, but rather that something loaded by the other plane in your intervening step is left behind and crashing the PMDG panel when you reload it.

Instead, I'd recommend you make the changes and then shut down the sim and restart.
