March 10, 20242 yr https://flightsim.to/file/45543/sim-rate-selector This addon goes into community folder. No other installation necessary and no programs to boot up, sim connect is not necessary either. If app is in community, then it adds an X2 link icon of the overhead handlebar. -------------- Click X2 and this pops up . The top has < to reduce sim rate, > to increase sim rate, and near the top it shows sim rate (here it is X1 = normal). ----------- Click the - icon and it displays smaller but still shows the current sim rate ----------------- If you click the middle icon (arrow in box) then it jumps to the corner, out of the way. Or you can drag it anywhere with the mouse. -- If you now click the X icon (top right) it jumps back to the center. Click X again and it disappears. Or make it disappear using the MSFS overhead bar. ----- You probably saw the options sliders in the app to limit max and min sim rate. Such as minimum is 1 (instead of 1/4) and max is 4 (instead of 16). You can set the max and min to anything you want. ---------- Using the MSFS default keyboard way to choose sim rate is harder and its easy to have it jump up to 16x which sets my fps to 01 frame per second and makes the sim go squirrely. Sometimes I have to end the whole flight to recover. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. March 10, 20242 yr Author Suppose you don't have this app and instead use the keyboard or controller mapped buttons with MSFS commands. Then the sim rates are X = 1/16 , 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, 8 16 etc. all the way up to 128X. Holding down the - or + key (after tapping the R key) will keep changing the sim rate very fast, and the effects will quickly get away from you and could ruin the whole flight. And it's hard to know when you are reset back to exactly 1. It might be 1/2 or 2. This app keeps things much more stable. And therfore sim rate changes likely become used more often.
