Under the list of processes in the Task manager I have noticed the following entries.SVCHOST.EXE - Network ServiceSVCHOST.EXE - Local Service andSVCHOST.EXE - System.NOW the SVCHOST.EXE SYSTEM is in 3 times using as near as makes no difference the following memory30000K,4300K and 4500K.The question is should the SVCHOST BE in 3 times or are they all performing a different function. IF NOT would it be safe to end 2 of them and if so which ones. Not too technical please.RegardsRichard

The SVCHOST.exe system usually represent a group of services when listed under the Processes tab. These services are listed individually under the Sevices tab and show an either stopped or running status. Some are system critical others are not but may be needed depending on what you are doing at the time.

This is totally normal behavior - SVCHOST is the generic container application for Windows services... don't worry about it.
