Is this a P3d problem, a PMDG problem, or my problem?

Recommended Posts

Been away from flight sim for a few years.

Recently returned to it, which meant a fresh install of my software.

I'm having several issues with it, but the main one for now is the lack of 'steering' on the PMDG 737 and 777.

In the 737 I cannot taxi properly. Every turn is inch by inch. So I have to start the sim on the runway...

Same issue in the 777.

However, on the 737, the autopilot does work, and LNAV and VNAV behave as it should.

In the 777, LNAV and VNAV seem to do their own thing. Please see this video for a demo.

Am I doing something wrong? Something not set up right?

With regards to my controls, I am using an xbox controller. Looking at the p3d controls section, the rudders appear to be correctly mapped and auto rudder is turned off.

I don't know what the issue is / how to fix it!

Anyone got any suggestions?

I would be grateful.

Thank you.

Check all the controls listed in the P3D controls menu that you don't have another axis assigned to rudder somewhere and conflicting.

If you're using the latest version of the PMDG 737 (the737NGu) it uses the separate tiller axis for nosewheel steering.  So does the 747 v3.

I've checked, there are no conflicts.

As far as I can see, everything is set on the default values.

What version are you in? 5.3? 5.4? 4.x? Or is it 6?
