April 4, 20242 yr Help please! A few days ago I found that I could no longer launch the sim. I bought my PC less than two years ago with MSFS installed (they sold me the discs they used and it's all in my name). A few months ago I purchased the premium version within the FS (online download) without a problem. I have never used the DVDs until now. I'll try to summarise. After trying a few times I concluded that I was going to have to reinstall the whole thing (sinking feeling). I had been reading lots of posts and uninstalled the programme. I had renamed my Communities folder and deleted the folder which had contained it - the one in users\....\Packages\Microsoftflightsimulator followed by a long series of letters (!). I have tried three times to reinstall (=3x5hours). Currently the situation is that the discs have installed into a folder (the default) called MSFSpackages. I can't recall seeing that before and the one I tried to describe above is not there. At the end of the install I was asked to enter the code which told me the code had been redeemed. At this point I am lost. In Apps the MSFS is shown as 100Gb DVD content. I have tried to get the game running in both Xbox and MS Store. In the process of this I have downloaded another 2.1Gb of data. I have signed in and out. The game is shown in the library and it is 'owned'. I click on start. Nothing. DVD1 has been in the drive all the time. I have tried 'Repair'. There must be something I haven't tried and I hope someone can point it out to me. Somewhere I read a post which haunts me - someone said that some registry entries might be incorrect and no matter what you do if they are left to fester you will never get the thing going (even more sinking feelings!).
