June 1, 20242 yr There have been many times over the last few years where I've been bowled over by the absolute quality I'm seeing on my screen, I try not to take it for granted because it has become the norm but are there any moments you experience when on a flight that make you sit back and appreciate what you're seeing? For me - 1. When on a night flight at 36'000 feet and I'm banking over a coastline, seeing the moonlight scatter out across the sea below me with all the "slicks" in the water! 2. Dropping from a beautiful pinkish blue sunset above the clouds into the "soup" and then flying through an orange lit rainstorm towards the threshold with the wipers struggling to keep up. 3. Those eerie moments at night when you're far out over the Pacific at 40'000ft with just a faint light in the cockpit for company. 4. Flying into Islamabad with that thin layer of smog and dust covering the city and surrounding hills below you. 5. Taking off out of Hong Kong to the East and seeing the lights of the city below you as you climb out on the SID.
