Pilot2... AWS: Making Pilot2ATC sound more natural

Featured Replies

Since I find SayIntentions too expensive, and wanted Pilot2ATC to sound a bit better, I came up with an elegant solution I believe.

I have written a Python script, which effectively evaluates the text output of Pilot2ATC (needs to be enabled), reads what ATC actually said, pipes into one of Amazon's cool Polly voices, and then plays it for you.

Polly is Amazon's voice generation technology, and basically offers two primary models: standard and neural.

I have posted the script including all instructions on my page:
marstr.online - Pilot2AWS
(Updates to the script will always be posted there)

Polly's voices are not free, but the best compromise I could find between letting a voice sound natural, while keeping the cost as little as possible.

Of course, like the Windows standard voices, you could pipe the output of these voices into VoiceMeeter with some kind of VST plugin to get an actual radio effect. Could be cool.

All details are on my page. Read the instructions carefully.

Enjoy!

That sounds really nice.

Do I understand correctly that it does not require the use of the Amazon Polly For Windows software? That was not easy to install and was incompatible with other flight sim add-ons.
