Undervolting X3D cpu's in BIOS.

Featured Replies

This is for Asus motherboard bios.

go to Advanced Mode

go to AI Tweaker

go to VDDCR CPU Volts change AUTO to Offset Mode

go to Mode Sign change + to - (so that changes reduce voltage instead of increase)

to to VDDCR CPU Offset Voltage change value to 0.05 (zero point zero five, NOT zero point five !!)

go to EZ Mode (don't exit from Advanced Mode)

go to EXIT (verify carefully there are 3 exact changes:

1 VDDCR CPU is now Offset Mode

2 Mode Sign is now  - (not +)!

3 There is a Voltage Offset of 0.05 (zero point zero five)

EXIT to windows.

this reduced cpu temps by about 5 C (from max 88 to max 83) in MSFS flight straight out West from London City Apt EGLC

On my 5800X3D I  can run it offset by .1 (twice the reduction above) This reduced max C in flight 5 more C, from 83 to 78 in flight.

Test made at 1,000 ft AGL flying due West right over the skyscrapers to the giant London Ferris wheel  thingee.

DLSS, DLLA, render preset Ultra, both LODs 200, FG on.

I also have Resize Bar set to : Enable. When you change Resize Bar from Disabled to Enable, 3 settings will change and you will see those 3 changes listed if you Exit BIOS from the EZ Mode. (You will not see them listed if you exit BIOS from Advanced Mode).
