PMDG 777 Equip Cooling OVRD issue

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

I loaded the PMDG 777 up today and was hit almost immediately with an unbelievably irritating siren before the plane's power had gotten to the point where the screens were fully on.  Here's a clip of the siren:  https://streamable.com/8v058z

I started the plane up anyway to clear out all the EICAS errors and hopefully uncover the error at hand and that resulted in two errors:  "EQUIP COOLING" and "EQUIP COOLING OVRD".  I went through the QRH steps for the second message which did not fix the issue, and the line for the first one simply says the equipment cooling system has failed, with nothing else on how to correct that.  Since the siren went off extremely early in the startup process I can't help but think this is a possible bug, and it did not happen prior to updating the 777 to 2.0.34.  I've registered over at PMDG to try to get some official support but I'm in the zone where I can't view the forum right now while my account is being approved.  I wanted to pop in here and see if anybody else has run into this and, if you have, were you able to silence the siren at all?

Thanks!

mmh just started a flight with the updated 777, nothing in that regard. Did you use a panel state or did that happen right after loading in? Check the failurer menu, maybe there's something

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

You know, it's possible it loaded a default panel state from one I set up in another plane.  I have two liveries (one is for my friend) and I set the panel state up on my plane, this was his plane and it could have defaulted to my panel state.

I'll go load my plane and see if it does the same thing.

EDIT:  I'm happy to report that loading my plane (the one the panel state was saved in) and then back into the first plane has resulted in the siren going away.  Unfortunately now I can't reproduce the issue, so I can't be much help to PMDG with this anymore so that's a bummer.  Thanks so much Fiorentoni, that memory trigger was all it needed apparently!
