Gate Selection

Featured Replies

Hello folks, looking for some advice on how to get the gate /stand I would prefer at the end of my flight after landing.

If I ask to taxi to gate, I often get random gates far from anywhere , so is there a way to specify a gate of my choosing?

Many thanks…

I should mention I have tried specifying the gate number, but it doesn't always work... is there anything specific I need to do?

Here's some things I found from the past that might be worth considering:

If you set up the gate for your airline, and then request taxi to the gate, it will randomly select one of  the gates for your airline to taxi you to.

It does not control AI Traffic and so does not check that the gate is empty or "delete" any AI Traffic that might be at the gate.  That level of interaction is on the longer term roadmap.

If you import the airport in TaxiMnt and the scenery (MakeRunways for P3D/FSX) has the gate assignments, they are picked up.  Or you can assign gates or change gate assignments in Taxi Mnt.

Also, at least in the real world, gates change often due to delays and other issues. It's not uncommon to land, taxi in and then be directed to another gate because an aircraft is already at your previously assigned gate. But it does become a pain if you have a specific setup for that gate in sim.
