August 9, 20241 yr When setting-up the flight, at the bottom right of the second INIT page, there is an entry called EXTRA TIME with values, for example, 7.3/0139. I think this means 7300 lbs. of fuel and 1 hour 39 minutes of available "extra flying" given the current fuel load, GW, etc. Does this extra time include or exclude the time required to fly from the destination to the alternate ? I would appreciate feedback on the meaning/definition of this MCDU entry. zachlog
August 9, 20241 yr This is the extra fuel/time that you have after substracting all the values on the left side of the INIT B page, i.e. your taxi fuel, trip fuel, contingency fuel, alternate fuel and final reserve fuel, from the FOB/planned fuel. It thus excludes the fuel required to fly from the destination to the alternate. That is included in the alternate fuel already. Please note that after engine start, the contingency fuel will be added to this figure. Edited August 9, 20241 yr by thepilot
