It’s not necessary could be for msfs but still good and immersive https://chucksguides.com/aircraft/fsx/pmdg-737-800-ng/ I'm familiar with Chuck's Guides (I am a long time user of DCS' A-10C). Chuck's Guides was one of the first sites I visited after I purchased the 737-600. Couldn't find anything for the 737-600 though. Does his guide for the 737-800 apply to the 600? Now having spent several hours already using the 600 and having more familiarity with the aircraft, it looks like Chuck's Guides for the 800 might help me learn more about the 600.

The -600 is shorter than the -800, so it handles differently (and it's a lot more sporty!), but in terms of systems, they're essentially identical. (They are both members of the same "generation" of 737, known as the 737 NG.)

I'm hoping it's still useful and not too confusing for learning the 737 for MSFS. Edited August 22, 20241 yr by Matt Sdeel

There may be a few references on how to do specific things in the sim -- changing payload or providing external power -- that are no longer applicable, but the vast majority of the information should still be relevant. I've taken a brief look, and it looks like a very useful doc.
August 22, 20241 yr Chuck's guide is a great suggestion; I didn't even know he'd made one for the PMDG. I hear you on the YouTube stuff. One thing to consider is that you don't need to limit yourself to simulator documentation though. The 737 is the most common airliner in the world and there is an absolute ton of great study material out there for real pilots preparing to transition into the real airplane; the simulation is so good that this is all applicable to learning it as well. I've never read or watched anything about operating the PMDG for instance; I just fly it like I fly the plane, and it works... Which is kind of amazing when you think about it. But like Martin says, sometimes it takes me way too long to figure out how to do sim specific things like changing options, because I've never read the manual 😂. Andrew Crowley
