FSX - SP2 - VC RAIN FX - where are they?

Featured Replies

Read LOADS of threads/posts about this issue. Installed SP2 - now a load of my FSX aircraft (inc JustFlight specifically for FSX) virtual cockpits show blank coloured views with rain.I know there is a Flight1 "fix" (thanks guys...kudos for getting that online so quickly!). Apparently you can move your FS2004/FS9 VCrain things to FSX to fix the problem for older aircraft. Where are the VC rain effects files in FS9/FS2004???Individual aircraft folders? Effect folders?Help!:)Adam

They are located in the Textures folder of FS9. Look for the 32 files beginning with "VCRain..."Or more simple yet, download vcrain.zip from here. It contains all the textures needed, including the default "set" and a modified "set" with better "raindrops..." ;)

Only on FS9 aircraft that're imported into FSX and have included the feature in their model file......and you've installed FSX SP2...and you've copied over the FS9 VC Rain... textures...or you've downloaded and installed the vcrain.zip file I just described.

Oh, okay, I thought maybe rain on the windscreen was a standard feature of FSX or FSX+Accelleration/SP2 that I wasn't seeing. Thanks for the information.
