MSFS2024 ingame Community Folder Setting

Featured Replies

for those not agreeing where MS places your community folder (which is C-Drive) and also don't want to fiddle with file tools, there is an ingame option in your library settings (that settings icon top right) to set your desired folder

I noticed that in the original location the sim has created a few subfolders, like Community_2020 and Community_2024. When I changed the location with the in-game option these weren't automatically moved.
I don't know whether this is necessary. The original folders are empty.

unless you actually INSTALL something they will remain empty. so no content if nothing installed yet. still, I use AddonsLinker2024 to - well - "link" my old MS2020 addons to that community folder of 2024. works perfect and let's you check which of the old 2020 sceneries etc. work in 2024. ini LOWI failed. Same Sim-wings EDDM, e.g.

Hi,

I changed the Community folder to another drive, then, I installed there a compatible add-on (a small airfield in Montana).

At the beginning it was alright, but then... boom! a CTD!

The surprise was that when I went back to MS2024 I discovered that the Community folder was reverted to disk C!

Two issues on one: CTD and a change of my settings. Why?

I can't believe it!

So, for the moment, I'm not going to change it.

And, by the way, I'm very angry with Asobo, Microsoft and all the people that told us fairy tales!

Regards

I tested the mod for MSFS2020. I uploaded the mod to the COMMUNITY folder, but it didn't show up in the msfs2024 list. But it seems to work. I think that if you set the location of the community folder to the same as the MSFS2020 and use AddonLinker, you can share it.
