2M textures aren't that bad

Featured Replies

When I first got FSX, I really liked the new 1m textures. However, I was unable to maintain a decent framerate. I did a lot of tweaking etc, combed the forum for tweaks and fixes, but never really tried setting my terrain textures to 2m.so that's what I've been doing. Yes, you might think it sucks to lose a little clarity, but once you get past 1000 ft agl the 2m is pretty nice. And I can maintain a decent amount of FPS.... I'm not sure if it's my CPU, or vid card (it's only 256mb memory) that can't resolve the 1m very well, but if you need a few more FPS (I lock at 17-19 depending on where I fly), 2m textures are a good option, if you remember, FS9's were 4m....so the clarity is still twice as good as FS9Hope this helps someoneRealAir SF260 turning base at Rochester, MNhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184748.jpgAlso, differences in texture resolution....7cm, 1m, 2m, 5m pick your choice ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184749.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184750.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184751.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184752.jpg
