Helpful advice for Saitek, RealSim Gear and Honeycomb users

Featured Replies

If its been awhile since you went through the process of installing stuff into FS2020, you might have forgotten what you did and where you put stuff. The purpose of this post is to hopefully help point you in the right direction to get two items working correctly in MSFS2024 if you already have them working in MSFS2020. Those two items are the lights on the Honeycomb Bravo for landing gear, auto pilot & warnings and any Saitek panels (I have the radio panel)

I am not a guru at this so please anyone else who sees anything wrong in what I am saying please chime in.

Basically in MSFS2020 you might have an exe.xml file in your main sim folder which by default should be here
C:\Users\**Username**\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

You can open it up in notepad to see what it says.

By copying and pasting it in this location:

C:\Users\**Username**\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

You will start the ball rolling. You will also need to move the folder AFC Bridge over to your MSFS2024 community folder for MSFS2024. The following is what you would want to see in your new exe.xml file which will auto start and close the items to have your saitek, honeycomb and real sim gear stuff work like in MSFS2020. I changed the location of the AFC bridge to reflect the new location in MSFS2024 folder by replacing FlightSimulator with Limitless highlighted below.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
    <Descr>Auto launch external applications on MSFS start</Descr>
    <Filename>exe.xml</Filename>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Launch.Addon>
        <Name>AFCBridge</Name>
        <Path>C:\Users\simpi\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\community\AFC_Bridge\bin\AFC_Bridge.exe</Path>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    </Launch.Addon>
    <Launch.Addon>
        <Name>RealSimGear Add-on</Name>
        <Path>C:\Program Files\RealSimGear MSFS Device Interface\Device Interface\RealSimGear.exe</Path>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    </Launch.Addon>
    <Launch.Addon>
        <Name>Logitech Microsoft Flight Simulator Plugin</Name>
        <Path>C:\Program Files\Logitech\Microsoft Flight Simulator Plugin\LogiMicrosoftFlightSimulator.exe</Path>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
        <CommandLine>-r</CommandLine>
    </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

With this my sim now has the lights working on my honeycomb bravo, my Real sim Gear stuff working and my logitech radio controller working.

I hope you find this helpful.
