FSX & Splashscreens

Featured Replies

I've noticed a few FSX splashscreen files popping up of late. I haven't been getting a splashcreen on startup for sometime and I'm thinking it might have started sometime around installing Acceleration X. However, I've decided I'd like to see them again so what do I have do to get them up and running again? Some advice would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Don, please look in the FSX Settings tab under General: Program: Show Opening Screen tick box.Jeff ShylukAssistant Managing EditorSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM

Thankyou for your reply Jeff. However, it seems that I have someother problem here. The "Show opening Screen" box is ticked. I also checked the Uires folder and there several splashscreen files in there...sooo very interesting? I wonder if you have any further ideas on this that I can try/investigate? Your comments would be appreciated and thanks in advance.:-hmmm

Hmm, no strong ideas leap out right now. About all I can suggest is to try renaming your fsx.cfg file to something else and letting the sim automatically build another, but this is totally just a guess. Jeff ShylukAssistant Managing EditorSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM

The only file that makes a picture is the .BMP. It HAS TO BE a BMP. JPG's will not work. I don't know what the others are. Make sure the splash picture is spelled right. IE: dlgsplash.bmp with an L. I was adding some and spelled it digsplash with an I by thinking it was short for "digital splash". When that happens you don't get a screen image on startup. Easy mistake to make. Don't know what "dlg" is short for.RichardS
