January 28, 20251 yr We will explore the country of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. This will need a couple of flights and we begin our tour in the extreme south of the country. We depart from Kawthoung (VYKT). During British rule in Burma between 1824 and 1948, it was known as Victoria Point. Facing Ranong in Thailand, Kawthaung is one of 7 official border trade posts with Thailand. We fly north along the Andaman Sea Coast and land at Bokpyinn (VYBP) and further north we reach Myeik (VYME). Myeik is the largest city in the Tanintharyi Region and serves as the regional headquarters of the Myanmar Navy's Tanintharyi Regional Command. The area inland from the city is a major smuggling corridor into Thailand. Our next stop is Dawei (VYDW). Only recently was Dawei connected to the rest of Myanmar by road and rail. A transnational highway and a railway line across the Tenasserim Hills connecting Dawei and Bangkok. We finish the flight at Mawlamyine (VYMM), the fourth-largest city in Myanmar at the mouth of the Thanlwin (Salween) River. Mawlamyine was an ancient city and the first capital of British Burma. The city is currently the capital and largest city of Mon State and the main trading center and seaport in southeastern Myanmar. The flight has a length of about 400 miles and 3 landings. We want to cruise at about 250 knots, which will give us a wide variety of suitable airplanes. There is not a big difference in the scenery between the two simulators. I will probably be the CJ4 (in 2020). The flight plans are here. There are no additional sceneries available. We try real weather. Please set your simulator for a 9 am departure. Multiplayer Particulars: Date and time: Sunday, February 2, 2025. 1700 UTC Microsoft Flight Simulator Multiplayer: United States East server. These flights are events posted at DigitalThemePark and use DTP's Teamspeak Channel for communication. If you want to help others enjoy the multiplayer experience, don't forget to enter your aircraft details on the multiplayer spreadsheet (linked here). Your courtesy will save others a lot of time and effort. Thanks! Regards Gunter Schneider
