February 12, 20251 yr Hi, I did a search on this aircraft (both here at Avism and a general internet search) and I could not really find that much feedback on it, though the feedback that I did read was quite positive. As a vintage aircraft fan I have been mulling getting this in preparation for the cooler weather here in Australia where I spend more time than ever indoors and have the time to buy and install / learn / configure another aircraft rather than having to deal with the garden going rampant in Summer... I did have the Coolsky megapack DC9 on the shortlist as well but I think that might potentially have a level of complexity beyond what I am wanting to manage (though I might be wrong). I prefer to have less aircraft than many and even though I went to P3D last year I only have three prop aircraft (A2A V-Tail Bonanza, Carenado D18 and A2A Super Connie). I have always wanted to add an early steam gauge jet but had never got around to seriously looking for one until now. I would even have entertained a payware small steam gauge jet of high quality but I cannot find one. What I really like about the A2A Connie is that I can allocate "AI crew" to the various positions in the cockpit (namely flight engineer). Without that I would honestly find the workload too difficult (at least for me), so I am wondering whether either the aforementioned DC8 / DC9 allow for this or at least an "automate" certain aspects of aircraft management? I also have the good old question on frame rates and general performance. I am looking for something with similar performance to the A2A Connie - I fear the Coolsky DC9 might suffer in the frame rate department relatively speaking though I doubt the DC8 would. Again I might be wrong - I am merely speculating. Any feedback, especially from people who have the A2A Connie and either or both the DC8 and DC9 would be very welcome. I am not in a great hurry but it is something I would like to start to get into when the Australian season flips over to mid Autumn. Thank you!
February 12, 20251 yr I bought the Areosoft DC8 a few months ago but have only flown it around traffic patterns and not a full flight. It is a beautiful model, and done quite well inside and out. No problems pointing the installer to P3DV5 and as far as I can tell is fully functional. It has a partially functional engineer panel but can be set up ready to fly. I’m sure from cold and dark to ready to fly will take a little study and practice. I need to dive deeper into this plane but am currently waiting on a new system. Same can be said for the CS DC9. It can be automatically configured to you pleasure. Edited February 12, 20251 yr by Patco Lch Vic green
